Karalundi Camp

People travelled from nearly every direction around Western Australia to attend Karalundi ATSIM Camp on the long weekend in September. Karalundi is situated some 814km north of Perth. It is truly an oasis in the desert with towering white gums, inviting green grass and rammed earth buildings. Campers started rolling in as early as Thursday evening, coming from Perth, Norseman, Broome, Derby, Kalgoorlie, Carnarvon, Collie, Geraldton, Karratha, Meekatharra, and Wiluna. A large group even came from the Jigalong community. The camp began with a wonderful feed and then opening Sabbath with Pr Don Felhberg. Our guest speakers were husband and wife team, Darius and Edyta Jankiewicz who travelled from North New South Wales to spend the weekend with us. The theme of the Camp was “Stories of God’s Grace". Both Darius and Edyta shared wonderful messages of God’s grace in our lives. Women's workshops, led by Edyta, were well attended. Children’s programs were well attended with 30 children enjoying the variety of activities. The Saturday night concert on the green was a wonderful highlight with music from many groups of campers and highlighted by music from “Chook” who also provided special items throughout the program. The kitchen was led by Gavin Dagg and his team who did an awesome job providing 80+ people for most meals and over 160 meals on Sabbath. The highlights for Karalundi Camp included participation from willing campers giving their time and using their skills to give enjoyment to fellow campers, meaningful devotions and workshops and a few faithful campers loved the early morning walks.
