Empowered for Health Ministry
Hope, energy, and vision—that’s what filled the WA Conference Office as more than 30 passionate members gathered for a transformative weekend of health ministry training on 1-2 November. From the first session, it was clear God was moving, equipping His people to serve our communities through whole-person health and wholeness in Jesus.
On Sabbath, our ELIA Wellness training explored the healing ministry of Jesus and the call to continue His work in our communities today. We heard uplifting testimonies of lives changed through simple, Christ-centred health practices. In the afternoon, two workshop streams provided practical tools: one for launching an ELIA Wellness Hub, and another for strengthening an existing ministry. Participants were also introduced to the De-Stress & Thrive and Empowered & Purposeful Living programs, sparking excitement and confidence to share these wellbeing resources in churches across WA.
Sunday’s CHIP (Complete Health Improvement Program) training offered a deeper dive into lifestyle medicine and how this proven program can support churches in offering tangible hope and healing. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Participants shared that they left “inspired,” “equipped,” and “excited to bring this back to my church.” It was a wonderful reminder that when we invest in whole-person ministry, we not only help people live healthier lives—we open doors to deeper discipleship and connection with Jesus.
We thank God for what He has begun and look forward to seeing these ministries thrive across Western Australia as lives are touched, healed, and drawn closer to Jesus.
