Outback Ministry Story

What a Holy Spirit led journey as we travelled to Mt. Barnett along the Gibb River Road! The road was rough but the drive was absolutely worth it!

The first person we spoke with was a young man named Logan Umbagai, who is a ranger in the Kimberley.

When Pr John Beck saw him after many years, Logan immediately exclaimed "Pastor John Beck!" We told Logan we were looking for his aunties, and later learned that he drove around the community in his ranger vehicle announcing, “Pastor John is looking for you!” What a blessing!

We met up with Rona Charles, daughter Marylou Divilli, and niece, Chantay Charles . As soon as we met, they requested to have monthly church meetings, which we will follow up with the WA Conference, Pr Darren Peakall and Gavin Dagg.

We asked if they would like us to run an evangelistic program next year which they welcomed. They even offered the newly renovated Youth Hall and also a kitchen to run a health program. We have locked in July 2026 for the event as it won't be too wet or too hot.

We believe this is all part of the preparation for "Australia for Christ."
