Newman ATSIM Regional

On Friday evening and Sabbath the 12th of August, the ATSIM Regional was held in the community of Newman. It was a wonderful first regional for John Gibson and his family who moved to Newman earlier this year to minister in the region.

The town’s sports pavilion was hired for the occasion, and it was soon appreciated as the day was warm and the bifold doors were opened onto the verandah. The cool breeze was welcomed by all.

Pr. Brad Thomas, General Secretary, and Darren Peakall, the ATSIM coordinator, travelled from Perth to be part of the weekend to share a message on trusting God in all circumstances and surrendering to Him.

Families travelled from Jigalong, Nullagine, and around the Newman community. The Karalundi chaplain, Wayne Thomas and his family, came for Sabbath. They blessed the group and worshiped God in songs written by Wayne.

A wonderful highlight was the Gibson’s and young people from Newman leading the worship songs, including an original written by Selena Gibson.

The day included a bountiful luncheon which was appreciated by all who attended. It was a high spiritual day and prayers continue for the families and for God’s work to grow in the area.
