Together In Christ: A Sabbath Of Transformation
February 8, 2025 was a truly special and unforgettable Sabbath at Perth Karen Seventh-day Adventist Church and Belmont Seventh-day Adventist Church. Seven individuals made a life-changing commitment to follow Jesus through baptism. The churches were overflowing with joy as family members, friends, and visitors gathered to witness this sacred moment, and support those stepping into a new life in Christ.
Pastor Saung shared a baptismal sermon titled “Embracing a New Identity in Christ,” reminding the congregation that baptism is not just a ritual but a profound transformation—leaving behind the old life and stepping into a new identity as children of God. He encouraged everyone to remember that in Christ, we are made new, forgiven, and empowered to live a life of faith (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Following the message, Pastor Lomani led a special prayer, asking for God’s presence and guidance in the lives of those baptised. Then, one by one, the 7 individuals stepped into the baptismal waters, publicly declaring their decision to follow Christ.
After the baptism, the congregation gathered for fellowship, sharing food, testimonies, and words of encouragement. It was a beautiful reminder that the Christian journey is not walked alone. We grow together as a church family, supporting one another in faith.
