Norseman Training

In late October, Pr Darren flew in a light aircraft with Pr David Garrard and Pr Connie Toga to Norseman for a combined ATSIM (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ministry) WA and Mamarapha training weekend. Families traveled from Kalgoorlie to join the local Norseman community for a two-part Bible Study workshop.

Sabbath commenced with Darren delivering a message about true surrender to God, emphasizing that before sharing Jesus through Bible study, we must first surrender our lives to God.

Connie led the first part of the workshop, focusing on the purpose behind Bible studies and how to prepare effectively. Following a wonderful lunch prepared by Tina, the workshop delved into practical sessions, allowing participants to engage in mock Bible studies with one another.

Feedback received afterward was positive, as the aim was to instill confidence in lay members to comfortably share simple Bible studies in one-on-one or group settings. ATSIM WA’s long-term strategy aims to cultivate leaders capable of contributing to the ATSIM ministry.

Later that evening, local members gathered with the team at the Norseman Beacon lookout for fellowship and to close Sabbath. Early Sunday morning, the team flew back to Perth, grateful for safe travel and the collaborative effort in enhancing lay member involvement statewide.
