Weaving Our Stories & Health By Nature Workshops In The Atsim Tent At Big Camp
There was excitement in the ATSIM tent at Big Camp 2025! With more space and plastic flooring, we created zones for prayer, worship, refreshments, and resources. Mamarapha College hosted a table and TV where visitors could explore study options and watch student testimonies.
We gathered for worship morning and night, with Darius Jankiewicz sharing the morning messages. On Sabbath, the tent was full, so we held an ATSIM church service and shared a fellowship lunch under the trees with over 100 people. Bible workers Wayne and Freda Thomas led worship, and we heard powerful stories from PNG 4 Christ, shared by Pastor Saia Vea and Albert Gerry from Port Hedland.
Nadine Foley’s Weaving Our Stories workshop ran across three days. It quickly grew from a small group to a full tent, as people experienced Aboriginal weaving, shared their stories, and connected through yarning.
Brenton Turner’s Health by Nature workshop on Sunday and Monday filled the tent with the aroma of bush tucker curry. He demonstrated how to use native ingredients, blend spices, juice for wellness, and shared his inspiring health journey.
Thank you to everyone who visited or helped with the ATSIM tent. It was a special space of worship, culture, and community.
