Carmel Connects With Their Community
Term 2 was a very busy term for our Secondary Campus as staff and prefects continued to focus on connecting with our families and wider community. Hebrews 10:24-25 highlights the importance of fellowship and mutual support with Christian communities.
Hebrew 10: 24-25 - 'And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.'
Some of the events organised that helped to build connection and community were:
Mothers, grandmothers, and important women in our lives, were celebrated with a delicious breakfast and special chapel program.
Our prefects, with the help of Shannon and Rhys, organised a bonfire, with marshmallows, hot drinks and S’mores galore. Students, staff and families had a lovely time chatting, playing ball games in the gym and catching up before an impressive downpour ended the evening early.
Donations were collected for Midland Meals consisting of bedding, men’s clothing, toiletries and food items, to support this organisation and their vital ministry.
Students were enthralled with the visit from Bubsie the 100-year-old car, on their trip around Australia, with activities and food organised by the Parent Association.
And as part of our Parent Information Sessions, Andrew Lines, the creator of ‘The Rite Journey’ shared with parents and staff, ways to help connect and support our young people.
