Summer Camps 2023

Summer camps in Western Australia were a blast!

Mornington Adventure Camp was able to run activities like rock climbing, mountain biking, a low ropes course, zip lining, canoeing, water slides, and a whole day water skiing, knee boarding and biscuiting. All of those activities kept us busy—then there was the main event—an awesome speaker, Tianie Calais, telling her story and giving us her perspective on how real life can relate to living a Godly life. You could actually hear a pin drop (for real) every time she spoke. The Teens had a fantastic time interacting with each other. One evening they came to the leaders wanting more time in the busy schedule to simply hang out—the deal was made that if they got through their dinner and had the dishes all done in a quick time they could hang out together more. Nobody has ever seen teenagers more motivated to be organised and get dishes done well. They convinced our cooks to serve the main meal and dessert at the same time to help it go faster—miracles still happen.

Then the Juniors showed up. They decided to be up at 5:45 am playing cricket. Their energy was unbelievable. Calvin and Jaclyn Shotter, our Mornington Adventure Camp managers, engaged them all in games throwing and catching eggs. Pr Malcolm Eastwick was our speaker and engaged the kids with the ‘back story’ to all of the Bible stories that the kids were hearing. One of the most animated speakers these kids have ever seen.  God was lifted higher as our overall theme of ‘Follow Me’ became clear.

Summer camps in Western Australia are fantastic—bring on next year!
