Let’s Pray, WA!

It was wonderful to see people across Western Australia unite in prayer over the month of June. Each day we prayed for different people groups covering each of our regions, for people working in a variety of industries, and for people facing particular challenges. The prayer plan was available in the last edition of Connect, on social media, and is still available on the Adventists WA website.

We had over 30 people create prayer videos which we shared across our social media platforms. It was great to hear how different churches got involved. For example, Maida Vale church shared the daily prayer focus and Bible verse in their church WhatsApp group, Gosnells created their own prayer graphics which they shared on their Facebook page, and Busselton shared the details in their bulletin. Other churches like Livingston and Merredin shared the daily social media posts created by our team at the Conference Office. We also had some Conference Office staff come to work 30 minutes early each day to pray together.

The WA Conference Youth team asked for prayer requests at the Young Adults Worship Night held at Rockingham in May. They got a box full! They prayed over one request each day for June and created prayer videos which they uploaded to TikTok and Instagram. Thousands of people have been watching these prayer videos, one video alone has just under 10,000 views!

The need and desire for prayer are there! A special thanks to all our prayer warriors across WA! I’m reminded of Paul’s words in 1 Timothy 2:1, “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.”

If you or your church got involved in other ways, we would love to hear the details. Please email us at wadiscipleship@adventist.org.au
