Bickley Church Kid’s Club

Bickley Seventh-day Adventist Church held it’s ninth annual Kid’s Club during the second week of the October school holidays. Over 70 children joined us at the ‘Jerusalem Marketplace’ throughout the week. We explored the experience of Jesus and His followers in the week of His trial, death and resurrection. We were blessed to have a number of children attend from the local community who have not had any prior connection to our church.

Each day began with worship in the Marketplace, before the groups divided up and went through their rotations to 4 different areas: Synagogue School, Bible Story, games and craft.

In Synagogue School, the kids created Torah scrolls, dreidels, prayer shawls and menorahs, while learning about temple life and practices. The Bible Story rotation allowed the children to see the stories of the week of Jesus’ death and resurrection come to life. Games allowed them to make new friends and burn off energy, while also reinforcing the message of the week. In our craft area, the kids had the opportunity to weave baskets, create finger paintings, string art, decorate candles and photo frames.

This event would not be possible without our amazing helpers. Thank you for sharing your time and talents with us, and helping us share Jesus’ love with the children and their families.
