A Story of Faith & God's Leading

March 15, 2025, was a day of great joy and celebration, as the Perth Karen Seventh-day Adventist Church was officially organised. This milestone represents more than just an event—it stands as a powerful testimony to God’s faithfulness in leading us from humble beginnings to this special day.

The journey of the Perth Karen Church began when several Karen families arrived in Perth, Western Australia, seeking refuge and a fresh start after decades of civil conflict in their homeland.

Between 2008 and 2010, Karen families worshipped at Koondoola All Nations Seventh-day Adventist Church, becoming part of a larger multicultural church community. However, language barriers made worship and fellowship difficult. In response, a collective decision was made to plant Karen church in 2011—first meeting in Maddington, then relocating to Rivervale, and finally settling at the Belmont SDA Church in 2017.

Our path has not been without challenges, including a painful church split in 2018. Yet through it all, God remained with us. He opened doors, restored hope, and strengthened our faith every step of the way.

Now, as an officially organised church, we move forward with a renewed mission: to share Jesus, serve our community, and prepare for His soon return. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Western Australian Conference for their ongoing support—especially Pastor Steve Goods (President) and Pastor Brad Thomas (Secretary), who officiated the historic and unforgettable church organisation service.

Becoming the Perth Karen Seventh-day Adventist Church is not the conclusion of our journey, but the beginning of a new chapter. Our mission is clearer than ever: to proclaim the everlasting gospel, to reach out to our community, and to help prepare people for Christ’s return.

Today, we stand as living evidence that God finishes what He starts. As the apostle Paul writes in Philippians 1:6, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

To God be the glory—our journey continues.
